**Jon Bright (London,** [**OK**](http://ourkingdom.opendemocracy.net/?ref=opendemocracy.net)**):** Hat-tip to [Iain Dale](http://www.iaindale.blogspot.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net) for flagging up this amusing BBC set of [sport quotations](http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/funny%5Fold%5Fgame/7147584.stm?ref=opendemocracy.net) from 2007\. And who would of thought it, there's a good one for OurKingdom (it's my job to find things like this): Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood manning the barricades against potential foreigners invading the club back in April, particularly US billionaire Stan Kroenke. The quote (from [here](http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/6574129.stm?ref=opendemocracy.net)):

Why don't we want the American at our club? Call me old-fashioned, but we don't need his money and we don't want his sort. Our objective is keep Arsenal English, albeit with a lot of foreign players

There goes a true patriot. British jobs for British workers, as the saying goes...
