Dear readers and members of openDemocracy,

Many of you in the US will be able to give to us and benefit from a tax deduction in 2007 - please contribute to our "Think Long Term" campaign in the last 4 days of 2007 to take advantage of our 501c3 status in the US.

For US tax deductible donations, [Click Here](http://opendemocracy.net/donate/donate-usa-instructions.html?ref=opendemocracy.net)

For other donations, [Click Here](http://opendemocracy.net/about/donate?ref=opendemocracy.net)

Many thanks, and with very best wishes for 2008,

Tony Curzon Price
Editor-in-Chief

PS - In our series of "Think Long Term" editorial pieces, I would like to recommend [Paul Rogers' latest article](https://www.opendemocracy.net/article/conflicts/global%5Fsecurity/century%5Fchange): "A Century on the Edge: 1945-2045". Paul takes the big picture on the man-made threats that lie ahead. He concludes with a challenge for *us*:

"... it is the period through to around 2015 that is the key. If genuinely major changes are made in that time - perhaps through a unique combination of [citizen action](http://www.thebulletin.org/roundtable/antinuclear-weapon-movement/?ref=opendemocracy.net) and political acumen - then the prospects could be good. By 2045, the world may have learned both to control adverse technologies and safeguard the biosphere." openDemocracy will be there to do its bit.
