# Vidal statistics

I never did meet [John Vidal](http://opendemocracy.typepad.com/wsf/2005/01/the%5Fman%5Ffrom%5Fth.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) for a beer. He may be the only journalist from a mainstream British newspaper in Porto Alegre for the WSF, and is busy as a bee. Yesterday the Guardian published his piece on a [free trade campaign](http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,1399354,00.html?ref=opendemocracy.net). Today they published his account of [Lula's reception](http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,1400439,00.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) at the forum (covered by [James Crabtree](http://opendemocracy.typepad.com/wsf/2005/01/quick%5Fsilva.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) and [me](http://opendemocracy.typepad.com/wsf/2005/01/lula%5Fand%5Fthe%5Fdi.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) in this blog yesterday).
