# Video shows police assault on man who died at G20 protest

A video has just gone up on the Guardian website showing [Ian Tomlinson being beaten from behind](http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/apr/07/video-g20-police-assault?ref=opendemocracy.net) by a baton-wiedling police officer as he attempts to walk away. The police offer him no assistance as he lies injured on the ground. He died shortly after.
