Macarena Gómez-Barris is author of three books, most recently Beyond the Pink Tide: Art and Political Undercurrents in the Americas, UC Press, 2019. She is also author of Where Memory Dwells: Culture and State Violence in Chile (UC Press 2009) and The Extractive Zone: Social Ecologies and Decolonial Perspectives (Duke University Press, 2017). She is Professor and Chairperson of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies and the Director of the Global South Center at Pratt Institute. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
