Tanisha M. Fazal is Associate Professor of Political Science and Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame. She is the author of State Death: The Politics and Geography of Conquest, Occupation, and Annexation and has also published articles on the formalities of war, the laws of war, secessionism, and the decline of war, among other subjects.
