Quick plug for our custom search provider, Wikiwix and their new Wiki/Twitter search

Wikiwix has been our custom search provider for a while, and they've now launched a nice wiki and twitter search product

I got to know Wikiwix when I was looking for ways to distribute the oD archive on DVD. I eventually got pointed to this really great group of French innovators who have been doing exciting things with search – both on GPL/CC type content and for custom applications. One of their flagship products is a media-wiki search engine.

Today, they launched a nice twist on that core product - here's an example. In the top of the screen you get the Twitter results -- what the real time web is saying about your search query. In the bottom of the screen, you get the media-wiki examples: what the reference web is saying about your search query.

In general, it does seem to me that there is so much more to do in search than Google is doing, and it is really nive to think that there are groups like Wikiwix that a) manage to do it and b) will do things pro bono for sites like ours. Thanks!
