Event - Wednesday 11 March 11.30 - Back the NHS Bill!

A Bill will be presented in parliament tomorrow by a cross-party alliance of MPs, which aims to save the NHS from the commercialisation that is beginning to kill it. Join us! All welcome.

On 2 July Wendy Savage and Hilary Wainwright join Mike Marqusee to launch his new book on the politics of cancer and NHS privatisation at Housmans bookshop in London.

EVENT - Tower Hamlets Save the NHS campaign launch, 30th March 2013, 9.15pm


65th birthday of the NHS and it is under severe threat from cuts and privatisation. Health Workers are losing jobs and having working conditions worsened. Waiting lists grow. With the biggest PFI in Europe at the Royal London and 42 years of NHS payments to the PFI company at profiteering rates, Tower Hamlets is in the midst of the destruction of the NHS.

EVENT - march to save Hammersmith hospital - Saturday 16th Feb at noon


North West London NHS is planning to close the A&E departments at Charing X and Hammersmith Hospitals. This will mean that the hospitals will be downgraded and other vital services will close. See below for details on a protest march Saturday 16th Feb. Assemble: Lyric Square, King Street, Hammersmith at 12 noon.

A group of Keep Our NHS Public (KONP) activists and Velvet Fist, a feminist and socialist choir, together with members of various other socialist choirs, are organising a singing flash mob event on Friday 15 Feb at 5.45pm at Kings Cross station in the new (departures) foyer

This will be addressed by Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock, hospital staff, trades unionists, patients and campaigners. On Saturday 16th February there will be stalls in Lewisham town centre to distribute our new campaign leaflets and posters and inform people about the campaign's next steps.
