Maysa is a transfeminist journalist from London, UK and openDemocracy’s trans rights reporting fellow. In her work she centres the perspectives of transfeminine people who experience racism, classism and disability. She is investigating the barriers that trans people face in accessing hormone replacement therapy, and has written on the economic effects of transphobia in the UK. Previously, she spearheaded a campaign to improve trans experiences at university and has coordinated a network delivering free services to trans people.
