
Based in Armenia, Tatev Hovhannisyan is an investigative journalist with a particular interest in tracking attacks on universal human rights and investigating the funding of anti-gender movements in Europe. Until 2023 she was openDemocracy’s Europe and Eurasia editor on our Tracking the Backlash project. In 2022, she won an Emma Goldman Award for innovative research on feminist and inequality issues in Europe – the first time a journalist has won the award.
