Anthony Swofford is the author of Jarhead: a marine’s chronicle of the Gulf war and other battles. He served in a United States marine corps platoon during the 1991 Gulf War. He has taught at Lewis & Clark College and Saint Mary’s College. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in the New York Times, Harper’s, and the Guardian.
