Gloria Carlini is currently a PhD candidate in the Anthropology of the Contemporary at the University of Milano Bicocca. Since March 2014 she has been associated with the ‘Shadows of Slavery in West Africa and Beyond’ project. Her principal research interests include human bondage, migration, labour exploitation and slavery.
