BBC Persian reports that presidential candidate Mohsen Rezai has launched a new morning newspaper in Tehran named _Amin_ (or trusted). Its editor is publicly allied with the candidate.

It's unprecedented that a newspaper publicly announces not only its political leaning, but also the fact that it's going to back a particular candidate.


Mohsen Rezai is the former head of the Revolutionary Guards during most of the eight year Iran-Iraq war in the 80s. He is now a centrist-conservative candidate. Rezai has also been running a news website, _Baztab_ for the past couple of years.
