In amongst all the brouhaha about John Kerry’s comments on education and Iraq (according to White House Press secretary Tony Snow he may have said ‘all our troops are incredibly stupid and I think we should lose the war on terror, worship Satan, and make gay porn, oh and only rich kids who go to expensive college’s are cool’), something a little interesting has happened.
Republicans candidates for Congress are being forced to talk about Iraq. This is something they’ve consistently sought to avoid thus far, for obvious reasons. As such the Democrats may be in a position to actually benefit from the ill advised blatherings of a failed candidate. Vote-vets who have produced some rather brave advertising this election cycle, ram the point home in a way that would have been unthinkable in 2004.
