Egyptian blogger jailed for 4 years

An Alexandria court sentenced a blogger, Abdel Kareem Nabil, to four years in prison for insulting Islam and Egypt’s president through his Internet writings. It was Egypt’s first prosecution of a blogger, but the case of Mr. Nabil, 22, a vocal secularist and sharp critic of conservative Muslims in his blog, has sent a chill through fellow Internet writers.
