"How dare you, Mr. President, ever 'spin' 9/11?"

I recently posted about the US media and its docility in regards to the US government. I am glad to say that I stand corrected. Yesterday 'englishman' posted this link on openDemocracy's forums. It is a video of MSNBC's Countdown host Keith Olbermann overtly blames G.W.Bush for "spinning" 9/11. Highly critical of the current administration (that's an understatement), he virulently accuses the President of being a despot in charge of a team which is buying off columnists and keeps on making -largely unfulfilled- promises while taking great (political, financial) advantage of 9/11.

The full transcript of Olbermann's own 'J'accuse' can be read on his blog:

Half the time, in fact, this President has been so gently treated, that he has seemed not even to be the man most responsible for anything in his own administration.

Yet what is happening this very night? A mini-series, created, influenced -- possibly financed by -- the most radical and cold of domestic political Machiavellis, continues to be televised into our homes.

The documented truths of the last fifteen years are replaced by bald-faced lies; the talking points of the current regime parroted; the whole sorry story blurred, by spin, to make the party out of office seem vacillating and impotent, and the party in office, seem like the only option.
