"I Love Beirut" exhibition

On September 22nd "I Love Beirut", an exhibition which aims to celebrate the beauty of Lebanon's capital as well as raising funds for a partially UNICEF-funded children's school, will be held in central London . Tom Young will be participating, auctionning one of his painting (pictured above):

I'm one of 4 artists who will be taking part. The others are lebanese I think. Funds will be gathered at the exhibition by selling tickets for the event, auctioning the artwork on view, and taking a percentage of all other sales of artwork bought. I am auctionning one of my picture, 'Beirut - between shadow and light', but I'll be exhibiting other work inspired by Lebanon (I worked there in the spring doing commissions for lebanese families, just before the conflict started). I'm going back to Lebanon next week for 10 days to see how it has changed, and paint more. I want to find the school that is benefiting from the exhibition, and collaborate on some painting with the children there.

"I love Beirut" will take place in London, the Adam Street Club off the Strand. For more details contact Souraya and Alice at lovingbeirut@googlemail.com.
