Is Al Gore a good contraceptive?

The "funniest story we've heard in a while" indeed, via Grist:

The school board in Federal Way, a southern exurb of Seattle, just put a "moratorium" on showings of An Inconvenient Truth, based largely on the complaints of one parent, Frosty Hardison.

According to the Washington Times, Hardison explained his angry complaint in those terms:   "Al Gore's video has no place in my kids' public school classroom any more than condoms. It is nothing more than an opportunity for him to grandstand and take more potshots at the Republicans for repeating his own error -- of not doing enough."

He then goes on to say "he information that's being presented is a very cockeyed view of what the truth is (...) The Bible says that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD."

Glorious.
