Lieberman supporters 'lamonting' their electoral defeat

Ned Lamont won the primary elections for the United States Senate, and a handful of the most popular political bloggers are having a blog-party. Some, like Eschaton, are submerged by hundreds of happy and angry comments. And for the gossip-lovers here, Slate magazine had a good overview on the blogosphere's tales of revenge and personal attacks just before the results came in. Conservative blogger Andrew Sullivan says Lieberman was "more interested in becoming Rumsfeld's successor than in getting re-elected in blue-state Connecticut".

Lieberman may have been defeated by a 'political unknown', he will still run as an independent in November.
