Making his lists, checking it twice…

No I’m not about to break into a version of Ban-Ki-Moon is coming to town.  Although naturally I’m sorely tempted.  Instead let this serve as an interestingly little compilation of the many, many lists of 2006, and as a reminder that our lists are soon coming to town.  Yes next week you’ll get to complete the oD 2006 quiz (exam?) – so get to work re-reading absolutely everything on the site!  In the mean time you could also check out:

The best of Slate 2006– including the rather amusing Five Best Political Moments of 2006.

The National Journals' ruminations on a similar theme.

Also Jon Stewart is happy to be Time Magazine’s person of the year  – hold on I thought it was me?

Grist is pissed its not Al Gore,

In contrast Salon’s person of the year is S.R. ‘not Macaca’ Sidarth

Adding to your sense of Winterval cheer is Foreign Policy’s 2006 List of Political Assasinations.  http://www.foreignpolicy.com/story/cms.php?story_id=3641

Whilst CNET adds a little visual stimulation with 2006's worst political mishaps – put it away Katherine.
Feeling gloomy I stumble away from politics and straight into Canongate’s list of 9 Body Parts you didn’t know had names

Also not necessarily regular oD territory, but music wise I swear by (or occasionally at) Pitchfork’s 50 albums of 2006.  I still think TV on the Radio should be No: 1 though.

Merry Luminos.
