The moderation team at openDemocracy followed the Kathy Sierra debacle with much interest - we have out share of moderation questions, issues and debates, but thrive to provide our oD readers and participants the best platforms on which they feel free to share their opinions (see our forums and commenting feature at the end of every article).
Salon ran this article about the place of women in both the blogopshere and the publishing world - I personally think the best and most telling part is the letters received after the publication of said piece. Here's a link to all letters, and here's one for the Salon editor's picks.
