Anthony Barnett (London, OK): I usually groan when I see the honours list but for the second time in six months I've cheered. After Geoffrey Bindman got knighted and immediately treated it as a permission to criticise the Iraq war Salman has had his citizenship confirmed. The BBC descibs him as a "devout secularist". I'm happy to correct them. There is nothing devout about Salman at all! Strike one for the Enlightenment.
