Alain Gabon is Associate Professor of French Studies at Virginia Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach, USA. Besides his teaching, he lectures and writes extensively on contemporary France and on Islam in Europe and the world. His latest essay "The Twin Myths of the Western 'Jihadist Threat' and 'Islamist Radicalization'" (2016) is available in English and in an expanded French version on the site of the U.K.'s Cordoba Foundation. He is a regular contributor to the Middle East Eye.
