Annika Brockschmidt is a freelance author and journalist currently based in Berlin. She has a BA and MA in history, and writes for Religion Dispatches, Frankfurter Rundschau, Zeit Online and Republik, among others. Her 2021 book on the threat the religious Right poses to US democracy (’Amerikas Gotteskrieger. Wie die Religiöse Rechte die Demokratie gefährdet’) made Germany’s bestseller list. She also hosts Kreuz und Flagge, a podcast on the past, present and future of US democracy.
