Esposito is University Professor, Professor of Religion and International Affairs and of Islamic Studies and Founding Director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University. His more than forty-five books include: The Future of Islam, Islamophobia and the Challenge of Pluralism in the 21st Century, Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think (with Dalia Mogahed), Unholy War: Terror in the Name of Islam, Islam and Democracy (with J. Voll).
A former President of the American Academy of Religion and the Middle East Studies Association and member of the World Economic Forum’s Council of 100 Leaders. Esposito has served as a consultant to the US government and governments, corporations, universities, and the media worldwide.
