Maarten Hietland is a researcher at the Dutch Centre for Research on Multinational Organisations (SOMO), specializing in corporate tax avoidance by multinational corporations and the financialisation of today’s economy. Before joining SOMO in 2019, Maarten worked as a researcher and policy advisor on tax and inequality at Oxfam Novib. Maarten holds masters degrees in both international relations and international economics.
