Misha Glenny is a former BBC correspondent and the author of three books on eastern and south-eastern Europe, including 'The Balkans: Nationalism, War and the Great Powers, 1804-1999' (Penguin, 2001). He is also the author of ‘McMafia: Seriously Organised Crime’ which was made into the eponymous BBC TV drama. He is currently a fellow at the Berggruen Institute in Los Angeles.
