
Phil Johnstone is a research fellow at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex. He has researched on and written about a number of topics including the role of warfare and the military in innovation and technological transitions, nuclear power policy and the interdependencies between civil and military nuclear activity, industrial policy, disruptive innovation, the role of the state in sustainability transitions, just transitions and coal phase out, industrial policy, and the crisis of UK democracy and Scottish independence.
