Rachid Mesli, legal director of the Alkarama Foundation, is an Algerian human rights lawyer who defends victims of torture, arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and summary execution. He is based in Geneva where he obtained political asylum after he fled Algeria following the civil war and where he decided to establish his NGO to assist victims all across the Arab world.
