Department of the Prime Minister should be disbanded

Jon Bright (London, OK): Regular OK contributor Andrew Blick has published a paper in conjunction with Professor George Jones, which Peter Riddell picks up in the Times, calling for an end to the semi official 'Department of the Prime Minister' which typified the Blair style of government. Blick and Jones argue that the next PM "should avoid interfering in the business of local government and public services but focus on economic policy, counter-terrorism and international environmental issues".
