How representative was it?

Published:

Jon Bright (London, OK): The EU's experiment in deliberative democracy, which J Clive Matthews has been covering for openDemocracy on our dLiberation blog, has drawn to a close. Now it's time to see if there are any lessons for the EU - and perhaps other democratic institutions. One of the key questions is how representative the poll was - how much did the participants reflect the views of the EU nations at large?

To answer this Clive is appealing for some help. Spreadsheets of the demographic data are available, but what do they mean? Follow the link, have a look at the data, and voice your opinion - statisticians especially welcome!
