About 'Parallel Journeys: Global Migration Trails'

'Parallel Journeys: Global Migration Trails' is a multimedia platform with field reporting, visual narratives, first-hand accounts and expert views – at the start, middle, end or return points of migration journeys.

The hybrid initiative spans key migration hotspots, combining solutions driven journalism with visual storytelling. With visual media as its core format, the digital platform presents photo, text and audio narratives around short films that launch the main themes.

Using long form stories, the project will explore migration and displacement in the global south and the cyclical impact of reactionary policies in the U.S. and Europe. Presented on a multimedia platform, with an interactive map as its launch pad, this initiative will include a range of countries and regions on the frontlines of migration, with video, audio, photographic images and text depictions at different points of the routes.

Adding to long-form visual storytelling, the digital platform will explore solutions- based journalism, through the views of topic experts, historians, ethnographers, technologists, policy makers, local reporters and niche journalists.
