Small petition for the EU Treaty

Published:

Anthony Barnett (London, OK): The entertaining EU Referendum continues its good work reporting on the growing network of calls for a referendum on the new EU Treaty. They are also keeping an eye on the opposition and linking to pro-European Treaty arguments, not least a new 10 Downing Street petition in its favour,

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to provide his full support for the European Union ‘Reform Treaty’, and believe that a referendum on the treaty is unnecessary not only because—unlike the former European Constitution—its content merely cleans up existing treaties, but also because a referendum is against the tradition of British parliamentary sovereignty.

Currently the petition has 10 signatures, closing date is 2 January.
