David Knowles

David Knowles leads the Hampshire Constabulary Prevent Team, in southern England. He previously held a national Prevent in education role whilst at ACPO(TAM) and is the current Vice-Chair of the Police Association of Higher Education Liaison Officers (PAHELO) which supports officers who work closely with UK universities.

‘Prevent’ in education within Hampshire

Prevent, a counter-terrorism programme, is a success in Portsmouth, where delivery took the significance of identity for young people into account. It can’t deal with events which can’t be prevented.
