Francisca Stewart

Francisca Stewart is currently completing her MA in Human Rights at UCL. She holds a BA in English Literature and has a background in communications and media. During her studies, Francisca has been working for Article 1, a human rights organisation which supports Sudanese asylum seekers and refugees in the UK.

Foreign national prisoners: the fear of being forgotten

Too often for foreign national prisoners in Britain, the completion of a prison sentence is followed by a period of limbo behind a new set of bars while the state works out what to do next. Labelled 'undeserving', they are largely invisible.
