Gerard Woodward
Gerard Woodward was born in London in 1961. After studying painting and anthropology, he published three prize-winning collections of poetry: Householder (1991), After the Deafening (1994)and Island to Island (1999). His first novel August (2001) was shortlisted for the Whitbread First Novel Award, his second, Ill Go to Bed At Noon (2004), was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize
