Ilse van Liempt

Ilse van Liempt is assistant professor in the Human Geography Department of Utrecht University, the Netherlands. She is research leader of the Utrecht University-wide Focus Area Migration and Societal Change and has written extensively on irregular migration, human smuggling and refugees. She was recently co-author of the report, ‘Evidence-based assessment of migration deals the case of the EU-Turkey Statement’.
