Jamyang Norbu

Jamyang Norbu is a novelist, political commentator and a leading campaigner for rangzen (independence) in the Tibetan community. He was the director of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts from 1979-84, and editor of Mangtso (Democracy), the largest independent Tibetan language newspaper from 1993-96. His books include Do-Gar, Buying the Dragon’s Teeth, and The Mandala of Sherlock Holmes, which won the Crossword Award for English Fiction in 2000, India’s equivalent of the Booker Prize.
