Matt Meyer is a New York City-based educator and author who serves as Africa Support Network Coordinator for War Resisters International. His numerous books include Guns and Gandhi in Africa and most recently We Have Not Been Moved: Resisting Racism and Militarism. He is a Board member of the AJ Muste Memorial Institute.

New movements in South Africa?

Despite a rising consciousness throughout the continent of the problems of increased militarization, coinciding with an increased appreciation of the power of creative nonviolent conflict, these conditions have not yet led to a rising movement of South African peace protesters.
