Mischa Hansel

Dr. Mischa Hansel is Assistant Professor (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) at the Justus Liebig University Giessen. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Cologne in 2012 with a dissertation on international cyber-security cooperation. Several articles he has written deal with the question of whether or not cyberspace fundamentally changed international and domestic politics. Other research interests include military transformation processes more generally, arms control regimes, multilateral peace operations as well as Indian and German foreign policy.

Cyber conflict and psychological IR perspectives

As cyber attacks and cyber terrorism become more prevalent, overreaction and conflict escalation must be avoided. But these things are harder to prevent through computers.
