Simon Cottle is Professor of Media and Communications and Deputy Head of the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies (JOMEC), Cardiff University. His latest books are Global Crisis Reporting: Journalism in the Global Age (Open University Press, 2009), with co-editor Libby Lester, Transnational Protests and the Media (Peter Lang, 2011), and, with Mervi Pantti and Karin Wahl-Jorgensen,Disasters and the Media (Peter Lang, forthcoming). He is the series editor of the Global Crises and the Media series for the publisher Peter Lang.
