Spyros Papaioannou

Spyros Papaioannou is an Associate Lecturer of Sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London. His research focuses on the politics of representation and the radicalisation of critique in postdramatic performance practices, exploring critical dialogues between social theory, political theatre and performance studies.

Real agency to the audience

In order to overcome the passivity and inaction of an audience, it is not enough to turn the spectators into active participators. Instead the fixed positions of performances and audiences need to be dissolved.
