Tom Kuhn

Tom Kuhn teaches modern German literature in Oxford. He is the principal editor and translator of the English edition of Brecht with Methuen Drama (Bloomsbury). Forthcoming in 2014 are two volumes of Brecht's non-literary writings, 'Brecht on Theatre' and 'Brecht on Performance', as well as a volume of 'Love Poems' (with W.W. Norton).

Bertolt Brecht: In the Jungle of Cities

Set in the mythologised wilderness of the modern city, the play sketches two men in mortal combat. Brecht is revealed here as a radical theorist of struggle, even before he had any notion of what precisely that struggle might be.
