Zhou Qing

Zhou Qing is a writer, activist and folklorist. Born in 1965, he was imprisoned for two years for taking part in pro-democracy demonstrations at Tiananmen Square in 1989. He has been a visiting scholar in the US and Russia and is currently chief editor of the magazine Oral Museum. He is also a member of the Independent Chinese PEN Association and of the China Society for the Study of Folk Literature and Art.
