Take out the Trash Day

Yesterday was ‘take out the trash day’ here in the UK with rather more than the usual number of complete Government F-up’s filling the papers all at once.

First and foremost the enquiry into the sale of warplanes to Saudi Arabia was dropped for reasons of ‘national interest’.  Or put another way because the enquiry was going to embarrass both the UK and Saudi Arabia (can you embarrass Saudi Arabia?) with evidence of massive corruption.  As the Attorney General eloquently put it ‘we were told by the Government that there would be serious trouble if we continued, so we stopped due to political pressure….’ – ed note he didn’t really say that, he said this.

Blair, Brown and Transport Minister Douglas Alexander also worked hard to further allay any suspicions that they were at all serious about combating climate change, planning additional extensions to major UK airports.  In response Spurt have taken out full page ads in major UK newspapers and continued a rather funny spoof campaign.  Grrrrr-rrrr-rrr-Milliband has good ideas, grrr-rrr-rrrr why will no-one listen grrr-rrrr-rrrr.

Meanwhile Tony Blair, yes still the Prime Minister apparently, was interviewed by the Police, as part of an ongoing investigation into the cash for peerages scandal.  Blair behind bars – not bad says this blogger!

Oh and further documentation was released telling us what we already knew – the case for war in Iraq was based on lies, surprised?

Hold on!  Being an avid West-Wing watcher I seem to remember that ‘take out the trash day’ was supposed to be Friday!  Jesus they can’t even do that right.
