As I stated, I do not disagree with people voicing there views. I have voiced mine, and I am against the war. While at the same time, I make it very clear I am against Saddam and his regime. There is the difference. To simple protest the war, is an over simplification or the problems. There were some signs I applauded. Those that said give the inspectors a chance. Now after reading the President of France's interview in the Times Mag. I understand his position and approve of that. But people against the war and not against Saddam, well, I dislike that. Additionally there were signs protesting numerouse other issues. It was a little like a pot luck lunch, everyone is welcome, just come make noise. It has been reported Saddam viewed the protest on T.V. If all he saw was anti American slogans, and no war posters than he can point and say, "See, I dont need to do anything, they are doing it for me" had he seen a flood of "no war and disarm Iraq" he might have had something to think about. As it is now, he believes he has all of Europe and Americas population supporting him, because on the 15th no one stated differently

Like it or not, presentation matters. The media covers an event, a poll is taken. World leaders make a judgement based on the request of the people ( we hope they do anyway) Being against the war, is clearly stated and documented, and leaders see which way the population is going. If we dont make it clear, that a peaceful solution be reached regarding the Iraq issue than the only message out there is " No War" A leader, any leader can than presume that his fellow citizens dont want war and dont want to interfer with Iraq in any way. Maybe that is what people think, you say that is not your opinion, but unless you stated it, I would have no way of knowing. Neither do national leaders.

You, I feel certain, are an individual who writes to your Senators and Represenatives. Same here. Do I think my well thought out letter was read and pondered. No. It goes in the "Yes" pile or the "No" pile. So I'm sure to send hundreds. For articulation, I write essays, short stories, and screenplays. Do I think our leaders read all the banners and placards. No. They count the size of the crowd. The jibber jabber of who makes up the crowd is device to discredit the message. "NO WAR" is a fine message, it says "THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE." I do think if you were to carry a sign that said, "FREE IRAQ BY PEACEFUL MEANS" or "SADDAM MURDERS THE INNOCENT, BUT WHY SHOULD WE" you could get your point across. That's what I'm going to do next time. Come join us.
