Antanas Sutkus. Song Festivals. "Rabbits in the Dressing Room". Vilnius, 1970
Antanas Sutkus (b. 1939) is one of the "Great Generation" of Lithuanian photographers that made their mark in the 1960s. As his main subject is people in everyday situations, his photographs reflect the daily changing life of his home country. This image is currently on show in "Daily Life Archives" at the White Space Gallery, London (15 May 2 June), an exhibition of his finest works including the series "People of Lithuania", a project which aimed to draw "a psychological portrait of contemporary man".
