James Ron - Executive Editor

James Ron holds the Harold E. Stassen Chair for International Affairs at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School for Public Affairs and its Department of Political Science. He is also an affiliated professor at CIDE, a public Mexican research institute.

David Petrasek - Senior Editor

David Petrasek  is Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, University of Ottawa. He was formerly Senior Policy Director and Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of Amnesty International. David has worked on human rights and conflict resolution issues with the UN, foundations and NGOs for over 25 years.

Archana Pandya - Managing Editor

As the multilingual managing editor of openGlobalRights, she Archana has overseen the publication and dissemination of oGRs' 1000+ articles and translations since its launch in June 2013. Archana is also a research collaborator with the Human Rights Organizations Project at the University of Minnesota. In recent years, she has conducted dozens of interviews with local human rights organizations, activists and experts in Mumbai and Mexico City and coordinated Human Rights Perception Polls in India and Morocco. 

Rachel Schmidt is a freelance writer/editor based in Ottawa, Ontario, specializing in human rights, human security, and children in organized armed violence. She holds an MA from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (Carleton), for which she did fieldwork in Colombia on girls in armed groups. Rachel has previously worked as a communications director, a gender mainstreaming consultant, an associate editor, and a technical writer, and is now writing a book based on her MA fieldwork. Theresa Harris is a Senior Program Associate in the Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). At AAAS she works on projects that aim to connect the scientific and human rights communities. Prior to joining AAAS she led the World Organization for Human Rights USA as its Executive Director. Theresa has served on the Board of Directors of Amnesty International USA and the governing body of the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT).

Karla Ambrosio is the Communication Coordinator in a Mexican NGO, and Editor of the online Magazine “Brújula Ciudadana". Karla holds an MA in International Cooperation for Development from the Instituto Mora in Mexico, and has worked on the integration of the first national human rights program in Mexico. She has been coeditor of several books and research papers including “Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Mexico City” and “Technical Cooperation in Human Rights in Mexico”. Seema Guha is a New Delhi based freelance journalist who writes on India's foreign policy. She is also an editor with the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library and a consultant with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS).

Mubin S. Khan is a journalist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, working as assistant editor of a leading national daily, New Age. He also teaches labor rights journalism to undergraduate students at the University of Liberal Arts, Bangladesh. He has reported on human rights, environment and economic issues for more than a decade. Mubin has a Masters in political journalism from Columbia University and is a contributor to the Guardian.

Rohini Mohan is a journalist based in Bangalore, India. She has reported on politics, development and human rights in South Asia for. Tehelka magazine, national daily The Hindu, The Caravan magazine, The New York Times India website, Foxnews.com, travel magazine Outlook Traveller, and news channel CNN-IBN. 

Osai Ojigho is a human rights activist and gender equality advocate working as the Coalition Coordinator at the State of the Union Coalition (SOTU) with secretariat based in Nairobi, Kenya. Osai has a LLM from the University of Wolverhampton, is well travelled and has previously worked in the UK, The Netherlands, Nigeria and Mali. Vincent Ploton guest edits the Evaluation and Human Rights sub-debate on openGlobalRights. He is the Head of External Relations of the Geneva-based Centre for Civil and Political Rights. He has worked for nearly seven years at the Association for the Prevention of Torture, and has more than 10 years of experience in the humanitarian and human rights fields.
