Svetlana Anokhina was born in Makhachkala. A journalist since 1999, she has worked for Novoe delo, Chernovik, Svobodnaya respublika, Current Time and others. She is the editor-in-chief of Daptar, a web platform dedicated to women in the North Caucasus.
