Labour peer and donor Lord Alli is under investigation by the parliamentary watchdog after openDemocracy revealed that he failed to declare his financial interests in a company based in a tax haven.
The House of Lords’ commissioner for standards has not given any details of the probe into Waheed Alli, but said it relates to “alleged non-registration of interests”.
The news follows our report last week revealing that Waheed Alli could be entitled to more than £425,000 from Mac (BVI) Limited, an offshore firm based in the British Virgin Islands.
